Health Department to conduct Walk-in-Interview for  323 Posts of Medical Officers (Specialists)

Chandigarh, August 7: To overcome the shortage of Specialists during COVID-19 pandemic, the Health & Family Welfare would conduct the walk-in-interview to fill 323 posts of Medical Officers (Specialists) on a regular basis.

 Disclosing this here today, Health Minister Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that in addition to strengthening the health Infrastructure, the Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government has been laying thrust to fulfil the all vacant posts of Specialists in Government Hospitals so as to impart quality health services in the Rural areas of State. He said the there is dire need of Specialists in the health department to effectively deal with the coronavirus situation.

Giving details about the recruitment, the Health Minister said that 37 posts of Anaesthesia, 4 ENT, 44 General Surgery, 25 Gynaecology, 56 Medicine, 6 Ophthalmology, 4 Orthopaedics, 4 Pathology, 83 Paediatrics, 1 Psychiatry, 45 Radiology, 7 Skin and VD, TB & Chest would be recruited through walk-in-interview.

Mr. Sidhu said that as many as 470 applicants have applied for these posts as online applications were called from the eligible candidates. He said that now the newly selected candidates will be paid pay and emoluments as per 7th Central Pay Commission pattern.

Mr. Sidhu further said that interview of Medicine and TB & Chest would be conducted on  August, 8 and Anaesthesia and Radiology on  August, 9 at Directorate Health & Family Welfare, Parivar Kalyan Bhawan, Sector- 34-A, Chandigarh. However, schedule for the interview of Speciality ENT, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Pathology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Skin & VO will be informed later on.
